Worship
Throughout scripture, we are called to worship God. We worship God in several ways in the Episcopal Church depending on the season of the church year, or whether it is the principle service on Sunday or a weekday service of another kind. We celebrate the Holy Eucharist every Sunday, and during the week, you may find us in a service of Evening Prayer or Compline. We welcome you to join us any time, as we worship God through our Lord Jesus Christ, together.
“Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come into his presence with singing . . . Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him; bless his name.” – Psalm 100: 1-2, 4

Our Services
Wednesday
Wednesdays are reserved for mid-week worship and formation (in-person only). The liturgical season of Lent begins February 22 and is marked by forty days when we reflect individually and as a community on Jesus’ walk to the cross on Good Friday, April 7. Easter Sunday, April 9, we begin the great fifty days when we celebrate and focus on Christ’s resurrection, a period known as Eastertide. This is followed by Pentecost, the birthday of the Church when the Holy Spirit rested on the disciples, empowering them to proclaim the good news of the forgiveness of sins for everyone who repents and turns towards the LORD God.
5:45-6:30 pm – Adult Lenten Study in the Parish Hall (in-person only)
6:30-7:30 pm – Cub Scout Meeting for ages 6-11 in Connector
Sunday
Join us each Sunday at 10 am for Holy Eucharist Rite II using the 1979 Book of Common Prayer, Book of Occasional Services, and other approved resources. During the seasons of Lent and Advent, Holy Eucharist Rite I may be used. Our outstanding liturgical arts program uses traditional hymns and occasional songs from praise from hymnals such as Hymnal 1982, LEVAS II, Voices Found, and Wonder Love and Praise.
Life Events
Baptism
Full initiation by water and the Holy Spirit into the body of Christ and the church.
Confirmation
A Rite in which baptized persons make a mature commitment to Christ and receive continual support from the Holy Spirit. It is generally done at the completion of Confirmation classes and involves the laying on of hands by the Bishop.
Funeral/Burial
A celebration of the life of one who has died as they are received into the Heavenly Kingdom. A columbarium for the interment of ashes is at the entrance of the church in the narthex.
Healing
The Unction of the Sick is a rite of anointing the sick with oil, or laying on of hands, by which God’s grace is given for the healing of the spirit, mind, and body.
Marriage
Marriage in the Episcopal Church is a sacramental rite in which in which a man and a woman “enter into a life-long union, make their vows before God and the Church, and receive the grace and blessing of God to help them fulfill their vows” (Book of Common Prayer, p. 861).
The union is understood to be intended by God for their mutual joy; for the help and comfort given one another in prosperity and adversity; and, when it is God’s will, for the procreation of children and their nurture in the knowledge and love of the Lord (BCP, p. 423). At the Declaration of Consent, both persons promise to love, comfort, honor, and keep their spouse, in sickness and in health, and, forsaking all others, to be faithful to their spouse as long as they both live (BCP, p. 424).
The congregation witnesses the couple’s promises, and the members of the congregation promise to do all in their power to uphold the couple in their marriage.
If you are interested in being married at St. Christopher’s you must contact the clergy (Vicar) at least ninety days prior to the hoped for wedding date to arrange for pastoral counseling and to discuss arrangements.
